Preston Musical Comedy Society is thrilled to announce that we have been granted the performing rights to the award-winning musical Come From Away!
This powerful and heartwarming musical tells the true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the 16,000 islanders who welcomed them when 38 planes were forced to land in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, after the events of 9/11. A tale of humanity, kindness, and community, Come From Away celebrates the bonds formed in the face of adversity.

The production runs at Preston Playhouse from 19th-22nd June – rehearsals are Mondays and Thursdays. There are some workshops planned which will be shared at the Welcome Event – so whether you are a Fester or a Morticia, a Grandma, a Pugsley, a Lurch or a Gomez, a Wednesday, a Beineke or an ancestor join us and Thing to find out more….it’ll be a scream!

Hundreds of years ago, the Addams family ancestors came from the old country and settled on a plot of land in what is now New York’s Central Park. This was, of course, long before it was a park, when it was still wilderness. The family flourished for many generations, and eventually, a huge house was built where a great Spanish oak, the Addams Family Tree, had been planted to protect the ancestral graves from such annoyances as sunlight and tourists.
THE ADDAMS FAMILY, a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, features an original story and it’s every father’s nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family– a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before– keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

The zany, unconventional, laugh-out-loud musical has been a hit around the world and now you get the chance to be part of the phenomenon.
Meet Princeton, a bright-eyed graduate who comes to New York City with big dreams and a tiny bank account. Soon discovering that the only neighbourhood in his price range is Avenue Q, he finds himself moving in with some truly quirky characters. There’s Brian the out-of-work comedian and his therapist fiancée Christmas Eve; Nicky the good-hearted slacker and his closet gay Republican roommate Rod, an Internet ‘sexpert’ called Trekkie Monster and a very cute kindergarten teacher named Kate Monster. And would you believe the building’s superintendent is Gary Coleman?! Featuring hysterically funny songs including The Internet is for Porn and Everyone’s A Little Bit Racist, Avenue Q is a hilarious musical with a warm (and very fuzzy) heart.
